Jacob’s Ladder Church

“And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.”

This could be a church or a chapel, maybe a Protestant/Neoprotestant church, although with little change it could be used as a Catholic chapel as well, not to mention a synagogue.

After my first approach on this design concept, I tried some variations and even had the opportunity to implement them on a real place of worship – a SDA Church in Bucharest (scroll to the last rendering).

However, I’m not sure how fast the idea will be applied; financial issues are always an obstacle.
